NVM Express Testing and Compliance Overview
NVM Express proudly collaborates with the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL) to conduct compliance and interoperability testing for the NVMe, NVMe-oF and NVMe-MI specifications.
Testing Services
Currently, the UNH-IOL’s testing software is available for the following product types:
- NVMe SSDs
- NVMe-MI (Management Interface)
- NVMe/Fibre Channel (FC)
- NVMe/RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE)
- NVMe/Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)

NVMe Plugfest Events
The UNH-IOL NVMe plugfest events allow companies to accomplish real-time, detailed, and thorough NVMe technology testing with other organizations in the industry. Stay up to date on future NVMe Plugfest events by visiting their events page.
NVMe Integrator’s List
Products that successfully pass the UNH-IOL’s testing suites will be added to the NVMe Integrator’s List. The UNH-IOL regularly maintains this list, featuring all products that have completed rigorous testing during an NVMe plugfest or test reservation at the UNH-IOL lab. Products on the NVMe Integrator’s List have proven to be interoperable and conformant to the NVMe specifications, and the list is often referred to by companies when making purchasing decisions for NVMe-based devices.
Why should I participate in the UNH-IOL’s NVMe Testing Services?
NVM Express members that participate in the UNH-IOL’s testing programs will be rewarded with increased confidence that the Product Under Test will function properly in many NVMe integration environments. Passing products have the opportunity to be listed on the NVM Express website and featured in the public quarterly newsletter with over 7,000 contacts, further promoting the product and its capabilities.
