NVM Express Unleashed at the 2012 Intel Developers Forum

Back from a great week at the 2012 Intel Developers Forum (IDF) in San Francisco.

One of the highlights was the NVM Express community with 18 industry booths showing controllers, tools, silicon IP, software and SSDs.  Agilent Technologies, Cadence Design Systems, Dell, Inc., EMC Corporation, Integrated Device Technology (IDT), IBM Corporation, Intel Corporation, LSI Corporation, Micron, NetApp, Inc., OCZ Technology, SanDisk, STEC Inc., Storage Networking Industry Association, Teledyne LeCroy and Virident Systems, Inc. were all present to discuss current and future product plans around this exciting technology.

As the pictures show, the NVM Express Community was busy with a number of companies showing NVM Express products introduced in 2012 and NVM Express Ready products to be introduced in coming months.

The second highlight was the NVM Express group announced the 1.1 specification has entered the 30 day ratification period. The 1.1 specification includes new features for Enterprise and Client. When the specification is ratified, look for more details to come on the NVM Express website.
