David Allen
David is an Associate Fellow, Architecture at Microchip Technology Inc. In this role David is responsible for strategic technology direction and architectural guidance for Microchip’s Data Center Solutions (DCS) group products. David works with customers and industry consortia setting strategic technology and product directions. He has held multiple positions in strategic leadership roles and his expertise extends to driving revenue growth and influential partnerships across Tier 1 OEMs and CSPs. He is a longstanding member of the NVMe Board of Directors and technical working groups and is involved with multiple CXL and OCP consortia groups. He has diverse expertise across IO protocol, and physical layer disciplines.
Prior to Microchip, David served as a Technologist in Seagate’s OCTO, where he drove strategic CXL and NVMe initiatives. He also was Sr. Director, Flash Solutions Group which he drove strategic direction on Seagate’s NVMe SSD product lines.
He holds a BSEE and MSEE from Oklahoma State University and spends his leisure time cycling.
